Testimonials
Ben was our design lead at Push.ai, and much of what made the product work traces back to the foundation he built. He took the time to deeply understand a technically complex product and how it used AI to produce outcomes for our customers, and that understanding informed everything he designed. It also allowed him to create a flexible design library that gave the product a polished, cohesive feel while keeping pace with how quickly we were building with AI, which meant we could move fast without the experience suffering for it.
That combination mattered most when timelines were tight, which at a startup is often. Ben consistently delivered original, thoughtful designs for our most important features under real pressure, and he did it as a true partner to the team rather than someone simply handing off screens. I would recommend him to any team building an AI product that needs a designer who can think deeply and move quickly.

Ben and I worked together at Inkblot Therapy and GreenShield Health. Over that time, he took on progressively more complex design projects, a clear sign of his growth and calibre as a designer. He led the creation of our design system, which significantly scaled our ability to build efficiently. He also played a key role in the rebrand and redesign of Inkblot's website, untangling messaging hierarchy and information architecture while managing feedback across multiple stakeholders on a genuinely complex project. Ben brings a rare combination: he's self-motivated, thinks deeply about problems before jumping to solutions, and sweats the details that make a design actually work.

I’ve worked with Ben on and off for seven years, from Inkblot Therapy to various consulting projects. His expertise in complex design systems, exceptional visual craft, and agility consistently elevate the quality of the product.
Ben designs with immense depth. He has a remarkable ability to anticipate problems before they arise, create solutions that scale, and translate complex interface requirements into experiences that feel effortless to the user. There’s a real poetry to his work.
Of all the designers I’ve worked with, Ben is someone I always look forward to collaborating with. Every project brings a new opportunity to learn from him, and his rare combination of craft, precision, and genuine collaboration makes working together incredibly rewarding.

I hired Ben while working through a set of difficult design and UX choices for a consumer hardware-enabled services product. He quickly picked up on the nuances of user behavior in hardware and software, critical paths, technology restrictions, and legacy UI choices. Ben redesigned a complete consumer app, and worked with the engineering team to get things built quickly. He was able to extend the design to a congruent B2B2C offering which unlocked a new channel of growth for the company. Above all that, the designs themselves were top tier. Absolutely would work with Ben again.

I met Ben 6 years ago during our Brain Station course. It was clear he was one of strongest technical designers and getting to work with him for another two years after that was such a blessing. His speed, precision and leadership in design is only second to his sense of style. It’s all design anyway!

About
I’m a product designer who likes the messy middle of a problem – where strategy, systems and the details of an interface all have to agree.
I tend to think in systems first. At GreenShield I led the design system across web and mobile, and built an AI-assisted tool for white-label theming that cut theme creation time by 84%. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of my prototyping and building in code, like this site, which I made with my friend Claude.
I care about the people side of the work: understanding users before reaching for solutions, and working closely with engineers so what ships is what we designed.
I’m based in Ottawa, but I’m open to design roles or projects from anywhere, and happy to relocate for the right fit. Have something in mind? Say hi.
